"How will recent changes in election law influence 2012 elections?" Free program Weds 9/5, 6:30 pm #nyc
The New York City Bar Association and The Alliance for Justice cordially invite you to attend a discussion entitled:
How will Recent Changes in Election Law Influence the 2012 Elections?
Wednesday, September 5, 2012 6:30 pm-8:30 pm
House of the New York City Bar Association 42 West 44th St. (bet. 5th & 6th Ave.)
Meeting Hall on the Second Floor (the room will be open for people to begin gathering at 6:00)
With the media watching closely as the Supreme Court decision of Citizens United v Federal Election Commission takes the stage for its first presidential election, election law occupies an unfamiliar position of prominence. Similarly, the massive litigation challenging the Voting Rights Act propels election law and the redistricting process into the national spotlight. We will explore theses changes in election and campaign finance law and the impact they could have in November and beyond.
Moderator: NAN ARON, President, Alliance for Justice
Speakers: ANGELO FALCON, President, National Institute of Latino Policy; KEESHA GASKINS, Senior Counsel, Brennan Center for Justice; LAWRENCE LESSIG, Professor of Law, Harvard Law School; JOHN SAMPLES, Director, Cato Institute Center for Representative Government

Paul Ryan's convention speech last night was "an apparent attempt to set the world record for the greatest number of blatant lies," says FOX commentator Sally Kohn.
In 6 days, America will hear the truth...when Elizabeth Warren gives her big convention speech! We're holding house parties across the country where local progressives can watch her speak. 38 PCCC members have already signed up to host, and our goal is 100 -- can you host a watch party?
Click here to host a Warren Watch Party next Wednesday.
We'll help you invite local progressives and get you all the materials you'll need to run a house party. All you need is a TV and a living room.
When Warren speaks, she inspires. On Wednesday, she will lay out a progressive vision for the nation -- and we need to make sure as many Americans as possible see it! So invite friends and neighbors.
Thanks for being a bold progressive.
-- Adam Green, Stephanie Taylor, Forrest Brown, Andrew Mayersohn, and the PCCC team.
P.S. You can also get a limited-edition Warren t-shirt. Click here to see it.
Paid for by the Progressive Change Campaign Committee PAC (www.BoldProgressives.org) and not authorized by any candidate or candidate's committee. Contributions to the PCCC are not deductible as charitable contributions for federal income tax purposes.
