In a great victory for the people, the Appellate Division, First Department, has finally said "no" to the latest attempt to cannibalize Flushing Meadows Park for commercial interests.
In a lawsuit brought by the City Club of New York, an organization which fights for parkland, open spaces, and rational use of public space for the benefit of New York City's people, the Court unanimously nixed the City's attempt to put in a shopping mall near Citi Field:
