Forming the resistance ~ @OurRevolution

Our Revolution

If Donald Trump had his way, he'd make discrimination the law of the land.
During his campaign he supported banning all Muslims from entering the U.S., and last week he defended his plan to create a national registry of Muslims who live here.
Trump has said he wants to deport millions of undocumented immigrants who call this country home. And he plans to reverse President Obama's executive action that provides relief for people like me who were brought to the U.S. as children.
Trump also wants to expand the use of stop-and-frisk, a practice that is essentially an open invitation for police officers to racially profile people of color.
We must do everything we can to protect communities that will be targeted by the racist and xenophobic Trump administration. That's why one of Our Revolution's top priorities in 2017 will be defending the rights of those who will be most vulnerable during Trump's presidency.
Will you make a contribution before tonight's end-of-year fundraising deadline to support Our Revolution's work protecting immigrants, Muslims, and anyone else who becomes a target under Trump?
If you've saved payment info with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately:

Our Revolution will be working at the state and local level to implement policies to keep immigrant families together, establish fair policing practices and allow all people to feel safe in their communities.
When Trump tries to divide us and force millions of our sisters and brothers to live in fear, it will be up to us to stand up for and defend the rights of those who will be harmed by the policies of his administration.
Sanctuary cities and states – places that protect undocumented immigrants from deportation – will be a central focus of our work. By working with grassroots organizations, we will ensure the existing protections granted by sanctuaries are kept in place while adopting those same protections in other cities and states across the country.
Every contribution we receive will send a powerful message that our movement is prepared to fight back against Trump's destructive plans for our country.
Thank you for adding yours before tonight's midnight deadline.
In solidarity,
Erika Andiola

Resistance in the time of Trump

In just a few short days, this year will finally come to a close. As we take a moment to reflect, we want to recognize the tremendous good that came from our work together, despite all odds being against us. And to remind you what made each and every one of our achievements possible — you.
If this year has taught us anything, it’s that we will never be defeated, as long as we are still willing to come together and fight, even under the worst of circumstances. We hope you feel the same way — because we are going to need you to join us and thousands of others as we fight back against Trump and the racism, hate, misogyny, and xenophobia he incites.
Are you in? Help continue this critical work by chipping in and stopping Trump’s agenda to Make America Hate Again.
Courage vs Hate
This summer, because of you, we were able to win much-needed relief to thousands of homeowners facing foreclosure. Because of our bold campaign, Secretary Castro instituted urgent reforms to HUD's mortgage sales program to protect homeowners instead of Wall Street banks.1
And because of you, we were able to pass Proposition 64 in California, a ballot measure that has provided immediate relief to so many who have been caught up in the mass incarceration machine because of unfair and unjust marijuana laws.2
It was Presente members like you who were able to reach out to communities who had long been ignored by the political process and welcome them into our family of activists and advocates, building a whole new generation of organizers.3
Will you make a donation to help support a powerful resistance to Trump and Trumpism?
And because of you, we are ready to fight back against the culture of hatred and bigotry that has plagued our nation.
In the face of a government that will force deportations, engage in ruthless privatization and rabid sexism, cultivate overt appeals to white nationalism and enforce brutal crackdowns on protesters, we have a duty and responsibility to act, to build, and to resist hate, fear, and violence.
Thank you for being a part of this movement. We couldn’t do this without you.
– Matt, Favianna, Oscar, Erick, Reetu, Erica, and the Presente Action team.
P.S. Can you donate $5 to support our work? We rely on contributions from people like you to see campaigns like this through.

Our Revolution (@OurRevolution) -- Petition for Keith Ellison (@keithellison) as DNC Chair

Our Revolution

One of the next steps for our political revolution is just around the corner.
In February, members of the Democratic National Committee will vote on who will become the next DNC Chair. And Keith Ellison – the second member of Congress to endorse Bernie's campaign for president – is among those running for the post.
Keith has never been afraid of standing up to Wall Street, Big Oil, or any other special interest groups. He is committed to responding to everyday people, not the billionaire class.
Secretary of Labor Tom Perez recently announced he would also run for DNC Chair, entering as a challenger to Keith. The race has reached a turning point, and we need to make sure Keith keeps up the momentum.
Last week Keith and Bernie announced a goal of collecting 1 million signatures to send a strong message that there's broad support for Keith to serve as the next DNC Chair. Will you help us get there?
With Keith Ellison leading the DNC, we will be able to transform the Democratic Party and ensure it works to advance the interests of working people.
Right now, the Democratic Party is undergoing a fundamental shift. November's election results have forced us to rethink our priorities and consider how we will move forward to make sure liberals come out strong in 2018 and take back the White House in 2020.
As a career organizer, Keith knows that voter turnout must be a top priority – not only during presidential elections, but in every election. And as a representative from Minnesota, he has an in-depth understanding of the challenges facing the Midwest – including the set of circumstances that led voters in the region to turn out for Trump in large numbers.
Keith also knows what is at stake during a Trump presidency – for Muslims, people of color, the LGBTQ community, immigrants, and so many others. He was one of the only leaders who acknowledged early on Trump's potential to win the Republican nomination and the White House. His unique perspective and experience makes him the best choice to unify the party and lead the opposition to Trump.
Keith Ellison is our best shot at creating a more progressive Democratic Party that is ready to take bold action to improve the lives of millions of Americans.
Let's show up when he needs us most – and that starts with reaching 1 million signatures endorsing his run for DNC Chair.
