This Bigotry
is Wrecking Lives – It Must Be Stopped

Dear Friends,
President Trump has
put anti-Muslim bigotry into law – and we must fight back.
On Friday he signed an order banning people from 7 Muslim-majority countries, and suspending the refugee program. Senator Chris Coons called it "one of our country's most shameful chapters.” Take action to stop this ban “We cannot allow fears of terrorism to undermine the values that have made us an example for the rest of the world." We agree. But we need more senators to speak out, and many haven’t. Every day they are silent, Trump’s Muslim ban gets harder to defeat. That’s why we are calling on Amnesty activists like you to send a loud and clear message to your senators: Trump’s Muslim Ban Is Shameful. Our leaders must reject it. This week at airports across the nation, people are coming together to say: No Ban in my name. We must join them. Take action now. Together as Amnesty activists, we can stand up for human rights in a Trump Administration. Thank you for taking action, Naureen Shah Director, Security with Human Rights Amnesty International USA |

Here’s How We Fight the Muslim Ban ~@Amnesty
A vote for Jeff Sessions is a vote for Trump's Muslim ban
Jeff Sessions' fingerprints are all over Donald Trump's refugee and Muslim ban. Throughout the Presidential election, President Trump's nominee for Attorney General told ABC News:
"So I don't think Trump has
gone too far. He said 'he should have a temporary ban on entry of people into the
country from the Muslim world,' but that's because we have an ineffective
screening process... so I think we're moving in the right direction."
This
demonstration of Sessions' nativist ideals make him wholly unfit for to be
Attorney General. Call
888-704-9446 right now and tell the Senate Judiciary Committee to vote NO on
Jeff Sessions tomorrow. Sessions has a long and troubling record as an extremist on race, human rights and voting against protections for women and immigrants. If confirmed, here are just a few of the ways Sessions could attack immigrant communities as Attorney General:
- Reduce access to legal counsel and information about immigrants' legal rights.
- Impose nativist and anti-immigrant ideology on decisions by the federal immigration courts.
- Coerce local and state officials to comply with pro-deportation policies, in effect punishing sanctuary cities for aiding immigrants in need.
Senator Sessions would not treat our communities fairly nor justly. We must stand in firm opposition to his nomination, and call on our Senators to do the same.
With hope,

Message from Keith Ellison @keithellison
Donald Trump is in the White House. Republicans
are in control of Congress. Some would say the easiest thing to do would be to
throw up our hands and give up.
I say it’s time to do the exact opposite. We need to roll up our sleeves, fight against Trump and his radical agenda, and unite the Democratic Party.
Ours is the Party that stands with working Americans. Our platform is one of the most progressive in history. We stand with the people who pour the concrete, teach our children, treat patients, and work in our factories.
We want the minimum wage to be a living wage. We want corporations and ultra-wealthy individuals to pay their fair share. We want comprehensive immigration reform that doesn’t tear families apart.
That’s my Democratic Party. I’m running for Chair of the Democratic National Committee to unite us, muster our strength, and keep us fighting.
Donald Trump lost the popular vote by 2.8 million votes. Maybe that’s because, no matter how many times he says he’s with the people, we all know he’s not.
Trump and his Republican-controlled Congress will not let up -- and the Democratic Party needs to be a united force against them. We cannot stop fighting when they attack affordable health care, a woman’s right to choose, or workers’ wages.
To fight back, we need to concentrate on winning elections at all levels of our government, all across the country, over the next four years and beyond.
How do we do this best? We Organize. I’m hoping that with your help, we’ll be able to organize a grassroots network of activists that will be an unbreakable force against Trump and his allies in Congress.
I appreciate all you’ve done for me. And today I’m asking you to do just a little bit more:

- Check out my platform for DNC chairman.
- Ask your friends on Facebook to get involved.
- Tweet out a call to action to your followers on Twitter.
The more voices we can gather, the stronger we
will be.
Thank you for all that you do.
