Message from Keith Ellison @keithellison

Donald Trump is in the White House. Republicans are in control of Congress. Some would say the easiest thing to do would be to throw up our hands and give up.

I say it’s time to do the exact opposite. We need to roll up our sleeves, fight against Trump and his radical agenda, and unite the Democratic Party.

Ours is the Party that stands with working Americans. Our platform is one of the most progressive in history. We stand with the people who pour the concrete, teach our children, treat patients, and work in our factories.

We want the minimum wage to be a living wage. We want corporations and ultra-wealthy individuals to pay their fair share. We want comprehensive immigration reform that doesn’t tear families apart.

That’s my Democratic Party. I’m running for Chair of the Democratic National Committee to unite us, muster our strength, and keep us fighting.

Donald Trump lost the popular vote by 2.8 million votes. Maybe that’s because, no matter how many times he says he’s with the people, we all know he’s not.

Trump and his Republican-controlled Congress will not let up -- and the Democratic Party needs to be a united force against them. We cannot stop fighting when they attack affordable health care, a woman’s right to choose, or workers’ wages.

To fight back, we need to concentrate on winning elections at all levels of our government, all across the country, over the next four years and beyond.

How do we do this best? We Organize. I’m hoping that with your help, we’ll be able to organize a grassroots network of activists that will be an unbreakable force against Trump and his allies in Congress.

I appreciate all you’ve done for me. And today I’m asking you to do just a little bit more:
The more voices we can gather, the stronger we will be.

Thank you for all that you do.

Keith Ellison
