Civil Liberties Post-9/11
7 p.m. on Tuesday, October 4

NYCLU office in Manhattan
125 Broad St., 19th floor
RSVP
Ten years after 9/11, we still face the challenges of remaining both safe and free. Our choice is not between freedom and safety. In fact, our fundamental values are the very foundation of our strength.
Yet, the Sept. 11 attacks caused a drastic erosion of New Yorkers' civil liberties. The NYPD and the federal government have launched various surveillance schemes that violate our constitutional rights, from warrantless wiretapping and email monitoring, to police infiltrating political groups and using people's religious beliefs as a pretext to spy on them.
On Tuesday, October 4, we invite you to a very special convening of our Civil Liberties Discussion Series as NYCLU Executive Director Donna Lieberman will discuss the state of civil liberties in the post-9/11 world and outline a path forward.
Join the conversation: Please RSVP by emailing discussionseries@nyclu.org or calling 212.607.3371.
